2007 Buckskin World Championships

Danie Hewlett rode Mega Star to win the Open Freestyle Reining World Championship-for the second year in a row! Congratulations to owner Honey Lou McConnell, and thanks for letting us show this stellar stallion.

2007 Sandhills Slide- Broken Bow, Nebraska

A big congratulations to Kelli O Brien and Nitro Whizzen Chic on winning the 2007 Non Pro and Ltd Non Pro Futurity at the Sandhills Slide.The two wins earned them over $1,300 and a saddle! This nice mare, sired by Westcoast Whiz and out of Fresnos Chickie, was bred, raised and trained by Hewlett Training.

2006 Western Slope Slide

Congratulations to Butch and Sheri Mundhenke, owners of Dunnits Surprise. Ridden by Doug Hewlett, Dunnits Surprise was the Reserve Champion in both the Open and Intermediate Open Futurity, and is now approaching $10,000 in earnings!

2006 Sandhills Slide

Congratulations to Butch and Sheri Mundhenke, owners of Dunnits Surprise. This talented gelding marked a 150 at the 2006 Sandhills Slide Futurity with Doug Hewlett riding, winning both the Open and Intermediate Open Divisions!

2006 Buckskin World Championships

Congratulations to Mega Star Kid's owner Honey Lou McConnell on this talented stallion's wins at the Buckskin World Championships. With Danie Hewlett riding, Mega Star won the Open Reining World Championship and the Open Freestyle Reining World Championship.

2006 Summer Slide

Congratulations to Earl & Carol Wiggins, owner of Cowboys Malerei. This nice paint was the Reserve Limited Open Champion in a very big class with Danie Hewlett at the 2006 Denver Summer Slide.

Congratulations also to Honey Lou McConnell, owner of Mega Star Kid, who was the Summer Slide Reserve Intermediate Open Class Champion with Danie Hewlett riding.

2003 Denver Summer Slide


At the 2003 Denver Summer Slide, Doug Hewlett rode Roosters Rafael to the Intermediate Open Futurity Championship after a run off, earning over $1,300. This nice colt is by Gallo Del Cielo and out of Young Breezy Gun. Congratulations to owner Honey Lou McConnell.

2003 NRHA Derby


At the 2003 NRHA Derby in Oklahoma City, Doug rode Honey Lou McConnell's Megastar Kid to win the Limited Open Derby. Doug and this nice stallion also made the Intermediate Open Finals, and earned over $3,700 during the show. Megastar Kid and Doug were also the 2001 NRBC Limited Open Champions.
